Class Reunion Chat Room just received a huge update!

It's already been quite a few months since the game's original releas as part of the Spooktober VN Jam! How time flies. 

Not too long ago we announced that a new major update to the game is coming and today is finally the day! Thanks to everyone who provided feedback to us! Your comments and encouragements helped us immensely!

Without further ado: What's new?

Many of the improvements are quality of life improvements, ensuring that the player experience is more smooth. Probably the most convenient addition is the "skip input button" that gives you the option to autofill the text that you're supposed to type in (marked in green in below screenshot). Now you won't have to scour your text for any commas that you've missed if you can't figure out why you can't send your text.

There have also been some visual improvements done in the form of shaders. We're suckers for grainy, old film aesthetics and figured the film grain, chromatic aberration and vignette would improve the atmosphere of the game immensely.

Another addition is the tutorial screen at the beginning. This is definitely more convenient than having to look up the controls on the game's about page.

We also improved the final sequence of the game! We unfortunately had very little time to work on it during the game jam, leading to a sudden and unfulfilling ending. We've improved it and feel like it's more impactful now. We won't post a screenshot of it here, though. You'll have to experience it yourself!

You will also notice that the chat boxes fit the text better, leading to a more appealing general layout. We also adjusted the audio and audio direction. Originally, there were four increasingly creepy versions of the main theme but only three made it in. Now all of them are right where they need to be, improving the tension of the game.

And there are also of course other minor adjustments such as typo fixes, giving the player the ability to advance text by using the left mouse button in addition to the "Space" button, some audio timing adjustments etc.
